Pick a color, any color. And now write a poem in which everything is that color (or, at least, that color predominates). Need an example? Try Walter de la Mare’s Silver, Diane Wakoski’s Blue Monday, or Federico Garcia Lorca’s Romance Sonambulo. Poems with this color focus tend to have a dreamlike quality — but not, perhaps, in the way that you think. Usually, when we say “dreamy,” we mean sort of vague and warm and pleasant. These are dreamy like actual dreams — immediate, worrying, and all the visuals turned up to eleven. And remember, the poem doesn’t have to be “about” the color — just dyed with it. Good luck!

Pink Wonderland
By Ellie C

I dream of a dream
With not only a certain gleam
But something filled with pink
A bubblegum colored ice rink
A place filled with joy
In which no one could annoy
Magenta colored plants
Fuchsia colored pants
But the dreams that I dream
Are downright extreme

Pink

Pink
The color of a rose
Pink is the color of my walls
When you have a cold you get a pink nose
Pink is a color of the paintings in the halls
My family has a cool pink house
Pink, pink, PINK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Silver
By: Mina A

Many colors all around
Reds, purples, and blues
But silver can’t be found

I see yellows and some green
I look until I am tired, but silver hasn’t been seen
Bells aren’t ringing
Birds aren’t singing

The bright sun is in the air
And I just can't find silver anywhere

I give up
There is no silver for me to find
I close my eyes and start to cry

A wealthy looking man walks up from behind
He looks at me with a weird face and walks away
I am still sad until a silver quarter falls from his pocket
This makes my face light up like a rocket

White
By: Lauren C

White as the clouds.

White as the pencil that I see.

White as the computer that I am writing this on.

White as bed I lay on.

White as the shirt I am wearing

White as all the colors come from.

White is the beautiful harmony that which brings us color.

Red
by Aaron B
Blood is going through the heart,
Lava is flowing through the red clay,
Japanese Maple trees grow in the hot sun's rays,
Cardinals brush their feathers up against fall's leaves.
All these things are red but there are many other colors in the rainbow.

Red and White
By, Sarah Ki

Red and White makes Pink
Pink, Pink, Pink, Pink, Pink, Pink, Pink
Red and White makes Pink

White and Red makes Pink
So mix the colors up, to
Get the color PINK

pink!!!

The rose petals drop

As they fall off the flower

They are beautiful

Red
Blood is going through the heart,
Lava is flowing through the red clay,
Japanese Maple trees grow in the hot sun's rays,
Cardinals brush their feathers up against fall's leaves.
All these things are red but there are many other colors in the rainbow.

Color Poem
Yellow

Yellow is my favorite color.
It is very bold. Paintings are instantly brightened with yellow.
Yellow brightens everyone’s day.
It gives personality to many things.
Yellow is the color of light.
Yellow is many things.
Yellow is the color of the Sun and the stars in the sky.
Yellow is sunflowers in the ground.
Yellow is the color of my favorite umbrella.
YELLOW!

Purple
The world before me flickers
the world has changed from soft grays
tho deep purple, every one stares at my
colorful clothing as if I was a
Trespasser

Blue
By: Sara C

Splashing in my face and up in the sky
Blue is all around me, always in my mind
Blue, Turquoise, Iris, & Sapphire
Not many foods claim the color blue
There is a berry, and lots of kinds of candy
Maybe a drink, or even a shirt
Blue is all around me, always in my mind

colors
by charlie b

Red is the color of blood that makes all of us
Orange is very vibrant and colorful
Yellow is the sun shining in the air
Green is the earth
Blue is the sky that lies above us
Black is lifeless and dull
And together they make the colors

Purple
By: Mallory F

Purple is the color of a fish
Purple is the color of a marker
purple is the color of a crayon
purple is one of my favorite colors
purple is the color of some clothes
purple is the color of some shoes
Purple

Dig with your elbows

Kneed down hard

Mine muscle tissue

Deep between my shoulder blades

Where aches the memory of wings

The living green by- Michael T

Lots and lots of things are green,
like the the leaves on a tree,
the flowers stems, and the grass.
There are many green things out there,
but u may not think theres that theres lots and lots,
